A commonwealth scholar, he obtained his first and second degrees from University of Benin, Benin City and a PhD from University of Nottingham, UK. He attended a short course on Bioinformatics from South African National Bioinformatics Institute, University of Western Cape, Bellville, Cape Town, South Africa, 2002 and was the founding President of African Society for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (ASBCB) with headquarters in South Africa.
He is a Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Benin, Benin City, an adjunct Professor in Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice, Faculty of Pharmacy, Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, and the Director and founding member of Pharmacotherapy Group. He has held many administrative positions in University of Benin and received different research and development grants from local and international bodies and published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
