Dear Editor,
The article on "Knowledge, perception, and attitude of
community pharmacists towards generic medicines in
Karachi, Pakistan: A qualitative insight [1]
deserves praise. It is a good attempt in terms of
research contribution to field of pharmacy practice in
Pakistan which had fallen short of research in
this area. The authors' detailed an in-depth exploration
of the idea of generic medicine dispensing by community
pharmacists is taken up by novel method of qualitative
methodology. The contribution of this methodology to
pharmacy practice research in Pakistan opens up
new field of research, and in future,
postgraduate students will take it as a way of
exploring the hidden problems. Moreover, another
research article in the last issue of TJPR also needs to
be mentioned which addressed the inter-professional
relationship between doctors and pharmacists [2].
These articles [1,2] addressed to be as 'master
contributions' to the field of pharmacy practice
research in Pakistan.
